THE DENIE WILLIAMS II MEMORIAL

PERSISTENT MOTHERS GRANT

Denie Williams II was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always stressed the importance of education. Not only did she instill this in her children but, she modeled this belief by eventually returning to college to pursue a career in Accounting. Despite being a single mother of 3 within the South Bronx, she persevered. After having children, Denie pursued her GED and went on to graduate from Monroe College in 2004 with an Associates Degree in Accounting. This grant was made in honor of Denie's loving and caring spirit. We intend to empower NYC mothers who have decided to return to school and ensure better opportunities for themselves and their children.
